Building on the success of the First International Nurse Rostering Competition<\/a> (see [Haspeslagh et al, 2014]<\/a> for details), we announce the Second International Nurse Rostering Competition!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It introduces the concept of stages and requires the competitors to solve a sequence of cases referring to consecutive weeks of the planning\u00a0horizon.
\nThe problem is\u00a0defined by a scenario, a set of weeks and an initial history description.
\nProblems have to be solved covering the full scenario of 4 or 8 consecutive weeks, in stages of 1 week at the time.
\nAfter each stage, the information for the next stage becomes available.
\nAs resources are taken up at any stage, forecasting may\u00a0be required in order to cope well with coming stages.
\nThe forecasting can be based on data from previous weeks.\u00a0Example weeks are<\/span>\u00a0offered as part of the problem description.<\/p>\n

The competition is composed of one single track.
\nStarting date<\/strong> is October 17,\u00a02014, submission date <\/strong>is June 1, 2015<\/strong> and the results will be presented at MISTA 2015<\/strong> in Prague.
\nPrizes will be award the top three positions after evaluating the results on early, late and hidden instances.
\nThe top three will divide \u20ac1729 among them (first prize \u20ac819, second \u20ac637, third \u20ac273), and will be offered free registration to PATAT 2016<\/strong>, that will include a special track on the competition.<\/p>\n
